History of the Bank
The origin of the Kerala State Co -operative Agricultural And Rural Development Bank can be traced to 1931, the year in which the then Land Mortage Bank started functioning in the erstwhile 'Travancore State'.
Subsequently, the Land Mortgage Banks were established in Cochin and Malabar regions.The State Land Mortgage Bank has been merged into the 'Travancore Credit Bank', formed during 1938.As a successor to the Travancore Credit Bank,the 'Kerala Co operative Central Land Mortgage Bank' was organized on October 4,1956.The Cochin Central Land Mortgage Bank, the
Kozhikode, Palakkad and Thalassery Land Mortgage Banks were also affiliated to the Kerala Co operative Central Land Mortgage Bank prior to its formation.
However with the redefining of priorities in the light of broader perspective of comprehensive Agricultural and Rural Development Bank Act', came into force in 1984 and further amendment in 1990.
